Why bamboo particularly, you may wonder. Well, bamboo is a grass and can grow at the rate of 91 centimeters (35 inches) per day making it a highly renewable resource. It’s grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. It’s being considered an economic and sustainable substitute for wood. Hence the popularity.
However, it’s important to note: the bristles are polymer based and non-biodegradable. They have to be plucked out & sent for recycling along with other dry waste. So effectively, what we’re replacing is the plastic stalk!
